I met my pal Diana this morning for breakfast at Win Son Bakery in the East Village.

She had the scallion pancake bacon egg and cheese — I named it my #1 restaurant dish of 2023 — but I’m trying to be good about exercising, and that’s a bit of a gut bomb, so I opted for the red date cake and a cappuccino, both of which were lovely (see lead image).

Then, to make breakfast last longer, I also ordered a mochi donut — which they heat up and it’s so chewy and sugary and light, it’s pretty much a must if you go there. Though now I don’t feel like exercising.
