Saint Julivert

[From the 9/6/24 newsletter]

Last night Craig and I finally took advantage of the “Violet Hour” deal at Saint Julivert in our neighborhood.

We walk Winston past it all the time and always mean to take advantage of their incredible offer of three half courses for $45 between the hours of 5 and 6. This time, we did just that (sans Winston, who was home eating his own dinner).

My first course of anchovies and bread featured Cantabrian chilies, beet butter, and salsa verde chaud-froid.

Isn’t that a gorgeous presentation? It looks like something you’d get at Eleven Madison Park.

For my second course, I had the lobster tostada which was worthy of a trip to Mexico City (see lead pic).

Finally, I had the soba with mushrooms and clams. Like linguine with clam sauce, only more interesting.

If you live near Cobble Hill and you’re looking for an early bird dinner, look no further than Saint Julivert. It’s fantastic!
